Applications for US, PH scholarships now open

THE Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI) Scholarship Project is now looking for potential candidates who want to avail of their scholarship programs here in the Philippines and in California.

PCARI currently has 200 available slots open for degree and non-degree programs.

Degree programs include Master’s Degree with thesis or project, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) and Sandwich Programs for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees. Non-degree programs include post-doctoral study.

The project seeks to enhance the skills and expertise of faculty, students and staff of the Philippine universities and colleges through scholarships, training and research partnerships.

It has two priority areas, Information Infrastructure Development for the engineering field and Health Innovation and Translational Medicie for the field of science.

PCARI’s main partner for the overseas scholarship grant is the University of California in the United States. In the Philippines, among the partner universities are University of the Philippines Diliman, University of the Philippines Manila, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University and National University.

Applicants for a doctoral degree must have a master’s degree or a BS degree with exceptional academic record in a relevant discipline.

Privileges include a full tuition fee, transportation allowance, stipend which ranges from P20,000 for master’s local grants and P28,000 for Ph.D’s local grants. The overseas grants will be based on the cost of living in the area.
