AROUND 200 female runners have enlisted for the IronGirl noncompetitive run which is a side event for the much-awaited Cobra IronMan 70.3 Asia Pacific Championships.
The run that will start and end at the Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa will be held on Aug 5. It will be a five-kilometer run wherein each participant is required to wear skirts while running.
This will be the first time that Sunrise Events Inc (SEI) are holding the IronGirl in the country. The race is a regular event in the U.S
The race is open for female participants aged 12 and above. Each finisher will receive a medal and some goodies.
SEI General Manager Princess Galura said 200 have enlisted to join the run. They can accommodate up to 500 participants.
Galura said that this will be the perfect chance for the women to take the center stage and experience what it’s like to join an endurance race.
