13 houses were totally destroyed and 2 partially damaged by fire that broke out at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday at Sitio Luray I, Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City.
SFO3 Julius Dagatan, Toledo City fire investigator said the fire allegedly started at the house of Vicente Fabroa, a vegetable vendor.
“We are still investigating what really caused the fire. Among that has been considered was the electrical wiring,” Dagatan told Cebu Daily News.
The fire scene was near Luray II National High School, South City Central School and North Central School.
Dagatan said students were evacuated to ensure safety as the fire was raised to general alarm calling help from other fire stations in the neighboring towns came.
Fire out was declared around 2 p.m.
As of press time, Toledo City Fire Station is still estimating the damage of the fire.
15 families or 72 persons affected by the fire are now staying at Marcelo Barba Sports Complex.
