THE SOUTHWESTERN University (SWU) Cobras finished their campaign on a sour note, absorbing a 17-25, 13-25 loss to the King’s Montessori School (KMS) in their last game in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League of Champions yesterday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

SWU, the Central Visayas leg champions, finished the tournament round with a 2-3 (win-loss) card to finish at sixth place.

Despite the sixth place finish, SWU mentor Roy Ulan is happy with the performance of his girls. He said what’s important is that the Cobras gained experience that can be useful in their upcoming stint in the Cesafi.

“For me, the experience is really a big help for the team. This is what we trained for,” Ulan said, as he also thanked the support of the school and former players.

During their stint in Manila, some of SWU’s past players such as Marlyn Llagoso, Marianne Calinawan, and sisters Ella and Lorene Grace Toring, took time off from their busy schedules to watch their former team playing against the best in the country.

Ulan also wanted to thank the parents of his players, especially those who went to accompany the team.
