Two suspected pushers perish in shootout with police

Two men caught repacking shabu at sitio Lawis, Alaska in barangay Mambaling died in a shootout with policemen on Monday morning.

Senior Insp. Regino Maramag, chief of police of the Mambaling police precinct, said Marlon Racal and Darius Cuizon were placed under surveillance for one week when they were caught repacking shabu by policemen in plain clothes.

They responded to the call of a tipster who said the two men were in a house for rent owned by Guillerma Capito. Maramag said when Racal and Cuizon noticed that there were policemen in the area, they fired at them and the police returned fire.

Less than a minute later, Maramag said Racal and Cuizon fell to the floor. Maramag said they died on arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

The two were identified as level two drug pushers who can dispose of at least 50 grams of shabu.

Recovered from their possession were one revolver, one .45 pistol, one .38 revolver, one large pack and four small packs of shabu worth P60,000 and drug paraphernalia.

Maramag said they were among the drug pushers and users who were part of their Oplan TokHang who didn’t surrender to them.
