CEBUANA spiker Gretchel Soltones of BaliPure Purest will be named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Shakey’s Volleyball League – Season 13 Open Conference on Saturday before their battle for third place against Team Laoag at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Soltones has been instrumental to BaliPure’s phenomenal run this conference, leading them to a third place finish in the standings with a 5-2 (win-loss) slate after the elimination round.
The Catmon-native Soltones edged out teammate Alyssa Valdez in the MVP race as the latter missed crucial games since she is currently playing for the Philippines in the Asean University Games in Singapore.
In yesterday’s action, the Water Defenders inched closer to a third-place plaque after chalking up a thrilling 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11 win over Laoag.
