The Cebu City Police Office filed complaints of double murder and frustrated murder against a suspected drug user who killed an elderly couple in a rampage in Barangay Busay, Cebu City on Monday night at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office Thursday.
Eduardo Ardiente, a construction worker, stabbed Francisca and Ricardo Cupta to death at their home in Sitio Lower Maaslom, Barangay Busay. He also stabbed Zyric Balolot on his left arm but Baloot managed to escape and seek medical help.
Ardiente reportedly got angry when the Cupta couple listed him as a drug user as part of the barangay’s implementation of Oplan Tokhang (Toktok-Hangyo).
Ardiente admitted to killing them because he was fed up with the couple’s accusations of him as a drug addict. He also admitted that he used drugs once in 2010.
