Stakeholders and provincial government officials discussed ways to mainstream and integrate climate change adaptation into the developmental agenda of Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III in a workshop held at the Capitol Thursday.
Baltazar Tribunalo Jr., Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office chief, said last Monday’s incident involving a missing fisherman named Conrado Parera showed how important it is to discuss ways to mitigate climate change.
“This is the impact of climate change. The tornados and storms are so domesticated. They are like little localized typhoons that come out of nowhere. We really can’t predict these things anymore,” he said in Cebuano./Ateneo de Manila University Intern Maria Lelaina
