THE Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles made short work of the visiting Yin-Lan Win squad, routing the Taiwanese, 97-58, in the second day of action in the Magis Eagles International Friendship Games sponsored by San Remigio Properties at the Ateneo de Cebu campus in Mandaue City.
The reigning Cesafi juniors division champions set the tone early as they led, 20-10 after the first canto and pushed their advantage to 64-50 heading to the final frame. Ateneo de Cebu then kept their foot on the gas pedal and buried their foes with a sizzling, 33-8 run for their second win in as many tries.
Andrew Velasco led the Magis Eagles with 21 markers while big man Christian Manaytay chipped in 14. Pin Yee Li had 13 to pace the losing side.
In the second game, the Colegio de Sta. Ana-Victorias essayed an 84-77 wire-to-wire win over the Pinoy Youth Dreamers with Jeffrey Manday leading the winners with 28 points.
CSA-Victorias and Yin-Lan Win are tied at 1-1 while PYD is bringing up the rear at 0-2. The top two teams at the end of the single round-robin will advance to the finals which will be played today.
