High School batch 1991 of St. Theresa’s College hosts Annual Homecoming

THE Silver Jubilarians have chosen the theme “Bold. Brave. Beautiful. With Hearts Afire!” for 2016.  With this, each celebrating jubilarian class has selected a woman that embodies Theresian values that can empower fellow women. A week-long event, the homecoming was culminated in a program at the auditorium followed by a reunion dinner on July 30.

The jubilarians and their empowered women are: high school- Diamond 1956, Ingrid Sala Santamaria; Golden 1966, Princess Diana; Sapphire 1971, Wangari Maathai; Ruby 1976, Mother Teresa;  Coral 1981, Hellen Keller; Pearl 1986, Gloria Estefan; Silver 1991, St. Teresa; Platinum 1996, Angelina Jolie;  college- Ruby 1976, Judith Wright; Coral 1981, Mulan; and Silver 1991, Mother Marie Louise De Meester.

To ensure an enjoyable celebration for all, STC Batch ’91 has enlisted the participation of Gap Mobile as technical director, Tatum Gamboa as show director, Randolf Lim as program voice over , Jiggy Jr. as reunion night dinner host and Creative Cuisine as caterer. Based on current batch responses, this year’s homecoming is turning out to be the largest in terms of attendance.

Activities will kick-off with a talk by Boy Abunda on July 23, 2 p.m. The talk, “Today with Boy Abunda”, organized by the St. Theresa’s College Alumni Association (STAA) and Abunda’s Make Your Nanay Proud Foundation Inc., is a fund-raising activity of the STAA. The talk show host will cover the topic Mother-Nurtured Leadership.

The Silver jubilarians have selected members from their batch to deliver career talks on July 25 and 26 to the grades 9, 10 and 11.  The speakers and their fields are: Samantha Rei Alcoseba, industrial engineering and education; Noemi Truya-Abarientos, law; Kathleen Alburo-Belen, architecture; Mitzi Marie Montebon-Chua, medicine; Mary Catherine Leones-Englis, civil engineering; Annalee Duran-Flores, corporate management; Anna Lisa Galicia, hotel management; Catherine Hermoso, law; Kristin Aldana-Lerin, journalism and fashion merchandising; and Mary Therese Borromeo-Requilman, dentistry.

Other activities include: July 27- Teacher’s Night, City Sports Club Cebu; July 28- outreach activity and Institutional Welcome; July 30- pictorial, mass, program and dinner.
