ASIDE from the 21 brand new Mahindra Scorpio police cars, the
in Central Visayas is also expecting 147 motorcycle units from the police national office, 106 of which have started arriving since Monday.
“These are from the term of former president Aquino III, and we are expecting a total of 147 units,” said Senior Supt. Renato Dugan, PRO-7 Public Information Officer (PIO) and Human Resource head.
Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, director of PRO-7, said that the motorcycles would be distributed to different police stations especially to areas where these vehicles are more needed while the Mahindra cars would be preferably distributed in urban areas.
“We are just waiting for the memo so that we can distribute the motorcycles,” Taliño said in Tagalog.
Taliño added that the distribution of the Mahindra patrol cars would be put on hold as well until an order would be given to them to start the distribution.
“This is already in progress. For Mahindra, I have already seen some of its recipients,” said Taliño./UP Intern Amy A. Macalinao
