PASSENGER jeepneys will only be allowed to load and unload at designated terminals in Mandaue City, the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) said Wednesday.
TEAM chief of operations Glenn Antigua said they took their cue from President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on eradicating traffic congestion.
Antigua said if the plan is pursued, jeepneys coming from the northern part of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu City will have to pick-up and drop passengers at Pacific Mall only.
“Nearly all passenger jeepney drivers load and unload anywhere which causes heavy traffic,” Antigua said.
TEAM will be meeting jeepney operators regarding this plan soon.
Parkmall, Pacific Mall, and JCentre Mall currently have jeepney terminals./USJ-R Intern Rabboni Borbon
