The Cebu City government is planning to sell a portion of Pond F in the South Road Properties (SRP).
Mayor Tomas Osmeña had ordered the City Legal Office to conduct a study on the terms of reference of selling a portion of Pond F, said City Legal Officer Joseph Bernaldez yesterday.
“Gisulti sa mayor nga iyahang ibaligya ang portion diha nga gitawag nato og Pond F. I understand naay portion diha nga naay tubig pero not all (The mayor said that he will sell a portion in Pond F. I understand that there is a part there which has water, but not all),” he said.
Joel Mari Yu, who is in charge of business, economic development and investment promotions for SRP, told Cebu Daily News that Pond F is a 60-hectare lot.
Filinvest bought 10-hectare of Pond F at P15,000 per square meters in 2009.
Yu said that a portion of the remaining lot (50 hectares) would be disposed of.
Bernaldez said they did not know yet how many hectares would be sold because it would be up to the mayor to decide.
He said they had no prospective bidders of the lot yet because they were still in the process of determining the price of the lot and terms of reference of the prospective bidders.
He said after they would be finished with their report, this would be submitted to the mayor for his scrutiny and approval.
“Generally moagi g’yud ni sa council unya ang (Generally, this will go through the council and then the) bidding. We will just have to go through the normal process generally under the law, i-public bidding mana,” he said.
