Signal no. 1 raised in seven areas as Carina moves northwest

Seven areas now placed under signal number one on Saturday due to tropical depression Carina.

These areas include Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay and Sorsogon.

Manny John Agbay, weather specialist for Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Mactan said that Carina might take its landfall in Tugegarao area on Monday dawn.

“Carina remains to bring light to moderate rain in Cebu,” Agbay said.

Carina has maximum wind speed of 55 kilometers per hour and is moving northwest at 11 kilometers per hour.

It is projected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday.
