John Hardy at the Silver Vault

JOHN Hardy is a Canadian who, in the early 1970s, visited Bali. Like many, he was enchanted by the island and in 1975, founded a jewelry concern there.

He counted with the collaboration of local artisans who to this day bring about a collection of hand-crafted jewelry famous all over the world. It is Balinese talent at its best.

The John Hardy line of jewelry is now available at the Silver Vault of Rustan’s department store in the Ayala Center. There was a formal launching with a stunning display of fine pieces of silver and colorful gems.

Guests were welcomed by Michael Huang, Rustan Commercial Corporation’s vice president for Store Development and Expansion. He said they have carried the John Hardy jewelry in Manila for two years now.

Here for the occasion was Godfrey Hung, general manager of John Hardy for North Asia. He flew from Hong Kong with Janice Leung, director of marketing and communications of John Hardy for Asia and the Pacific.

She spoke about the brand’s corporate social responsibility:

“John Hardy has a very serious commitment to the environment. A portion of the proceeds from the Bamboo collection goes to planting bamboo seedlings in Bali. Close to a million have been planted to date . Additionally, we use reclaimed silver and gold, and gemstones sourced under the best practices.”
