EVEN the heavens seem to cooperate in making sure that this Sunday’s Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship will be a success.
This after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that no signs of any tropical depression is expected on or before race day on August 7.
As of yesterday, or five days before Cebu hosts Asia’s biggest triathlon race, PAGASA’s weather bulletin showed that severe tropical storm “Carina” is already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), and has no more any direct effect on any part of the country.
All Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals were also all lifted, forecasting a stable weather condition for the incoming race, and other related activities.
On the day of the race, forecast shows that rainshowers are expected in the morning and thunderstorm only in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, for the rest of the week, Cebu City and neighboring cities will be experiencing partly cloudy skies to at times cloudy with rainshowers or thunderstorm./USJ-R Intern Dafne Wenceslao
