A 56-year-old tricycle driver was killed after he was hit by a speeding passenger bus at the national road of Barangay El Pardo, Boljoon, southern Cebu, last Sunday.

Amado Sindolo, a resident of Barangay Daanlungsod, Alcoy, died on the spot due to severe head injuries.

According to PO2 Rex Pelonio of the Boljoon police station, Sindolo was driving his tricycle on the way back to the town proper after dropping off a passenger when he suddenly lost control of his brakes while descending from a hill.

The tricycle sped uncontrollably towards an intersection downhill and crashed into a Sun Ray passenger bus driven by 52-year-old Allan Undangan along the highway.

Undangan immediately surrendered to police after the incident while the bus was impounded. The parties plan to reach an out-of-court settlement, police said.
