Running enthusiasts are encouraged to join the “Recoletos Run” of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR) Alumni Association set this Sunday at the Plaza Independencia, Cebu City.
The race has already attracted 200 runners but the early registrants are students of the USJ-R.
With this, race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running is encouraging non-Josenians to take part in the race which aims to raise funds for the scholarship program of the USJ-R Alumni Association.
The alumni association is supporting three scholars taking five-year courses. It is looking to add a few more.
“Registration is still going on. It’s less than a week before the run will kick off so we are inviting runners to join this run for a cause,” said Juarez.
The race, which is back after a one-year hiatus, will feature 16-kilometer, 10k and 3k categories that will traverse the South Road Properties (SRP).
The university’s new administration will be introduced during the event.
Registration fee is pegged at P350 for the 3k, P400 for the 6k and P500 for the 16k. Registration fee is inclusive of a race singlet, bib and refreshments after the race.
The 6k and 16k distances will have two different categories, the open and the student/alumni/employee categories.
Registration is going on at the USJ-R Alumni Office, USJ-R Basak Campus and at the RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu.
Registration will end on Sept. 2.
