Fair weather expected in Cebu, but localized thunderstorms possible

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Cebuanos can expect generally fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Monday, June 15, the state weather bureau said.
However, the Visayas Pagasa Regional Services Division (PRSD) said isolated rains or thunderstorms would still be possible due to localized thunderstorms.
Localized thunderstorms are brief, intense weather disturbances confined to a specific area, often triggered by strong heating.

Temperatures in Cebu may range from 27 to 33 degrees Celsius on Monday.
The Visayas PRSD also forecast light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas throughout the day.
Similar conditions are expected across the whole Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands.

Weather across the country
Pagasa said the country is currently experiencing a monsoon break, or a temporary weakening of the southwest monsoon (habagat) amid the rainy season.
However, heavy rains during the afternoon to evening are still possible due to localized thunderstorms.
The bureau also forecast warm and humid conditions across the country.
It added that the easterlies, or warm winds blowing from the east, continued affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

As of Monday morning, Pagasa has not raised any gale warning.
The weather bureau has also not observed any low pressure areas for tropical cyclone development within its monitoring domain.
