Tab Baldwin skips CIDG probe in fatal drowning case – Remulla

MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo de Manila University athletics director Em Fernandez was the only individual to personally appear before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at Camp Crame on Monday morning.
This pertains to the investigation into the fatal drowning of men’s basketball team members Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, according to Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
However, head coach Tab Baldwin did not personally appear, Remulla told reporters in an interview just outside the CIDG after Fernandez’s appearance.

Remulla said that five members of the Ateneo de Manila University men’s basketball team management were issued subpoenas directing them to appear before the CIDG, but only one complied.
The DILG Secretary clarified that the CIDG invitation was part of the agency’s “fact-finding mission,” not a “fault-finding mission,” into the drowning incident that occurred last June 8.
