Govt, stakeholders need to improve security against leaks

WHILE digitalization changed the way business is done, it also led to an increase in cyber security risks in enterprises.

Luis Pineda, IBM Philippines president and country general manager, said only 17 percent of the enterprise and government sectors are secured while 27 percent are unprepared to deal with cyber security leaks.

“When companies saw the need to digitize, they also saw the increase in cyber security threats,” he said in a media roundtable on succeeding in the age of disruption on Tuesday.

The remaining 56 percent already have developing capabilities, Pineda said.

Pineda said there should be sharing of information and keener government oversight to combat these threats.
