Guiseppe FC bags girls’ under-18 crown of Cebu Province futsal tournament

GUISEPPE FC staged a big upset over the favored Sacred Heart Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) to bag the title in the girls’ under-18 category of the recently concluded 447th Cebu Province Founding Anniversary futsal tournament at the Enan Chiong Sports Complex in the city of Naga.

Guiseppe FC, considered as the underdogs, outscored the favored SHS-AdC, 2–0, to capture the title.

Guiseppe FC finished its campaign with two wins and a single draw in the group stage and booked its ticket to the finals when it beat Liloan, 4-3.

SHS-AdC also finished with two wins and defeated Saint Theresa’s College (STC), 1–0, to advance to the finals.

Consolacion FC finished third after defeating STC by a shootout, 1–0.

In the girls under-15 division, STC beat Guiseppe FC, 2–0, in the championship match to claim the title.

Liloan settled for third after beating SHS-AdC via shootout, 1–0.

Mandaue City routed Alcoy FC, 2-0, to dominate the boys under-15 division while Suba Basbas, 3–2, escaped Balamban to place third.

In the under-11 mixed division, Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) routed Canduman, 4–0, for the crown while Poblacion FC won over Suba Basbas, 3–2, to finish third.
