Cebu City Councilor Jun Alcover filed four complaints against Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña at Office of the Ombudsman Wednesday morning.
Alcover’s complaints centered on the mayor’s offering of cash rewards to police that supposedly spurred them to kill drug suspects in violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
He is also questioned the mayor’s appointments of his wife, Margot and a number of Cebu City councilors allied with his Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) as deputy mayors.
Alcover likewise questioned the mayor’s order to hold only one flag ceremony every month, saying it allegedly does not conform to the legal mandate for flag raising and flag lowering ceremonies.
He sought the mayor’s preventive suspension pending the resolution of these complaints.
