AFTER getting delayed for more than a day, Cebu-based WBO oriental featherweight champion Neiljohn Tabanao and his trainer Brix Flores finally arrived in Accra, Ghana yesterday.
The Panabo City, Davao del Norte native Tabanao is set to face unbeaten WBO Africa Featherweight champion Isaac Dogboe on Aug. 26 (Aug. 27 in PH).
They will be fighting for the vacant WBC Youth world featherweight, WBO Africa featherweight and the WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title.
The 22-year-old Tabanao, who sports a 13-1-0 (win-loss-draw) record with nine knockout wins, had to spent an entire day at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport after encountering problems with their visa documents with Flores. When everything was settled, they left for Ghana late Monday.
Tabanao said the people in Ghana were very hospitable and warm after he appeared in a press conference along with Dogboe, who has a 14-0-0 9KO record.
