USC-BED booters rip USJ-R, 13-0

THE University of San Carlos-Basic Education (USC-BED) Warriors opened their campaign in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) secondary football tournament by humiliating the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR), 13-0, yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) field.

Carl Montaner and Nicklais Taok led USC-BED’s dominant win by scoring three goals each. Montaner nailed his goals at the 57th, 64th and 85th minutes while Taok scored his at the 31st, 49th and 53rd minutes.

Joseph Antiola and Angelo Collina each had two goals while Jace Cabalan, Harl Barbon and Joshua Catalan chipped in one goal apiece.

In the other secondary division match, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) battled to a, 3-3 draw.

In the collegiate division, USPF beat USC,1-0 on Jeralph Tura’s 42nd-minute goal while the University of Cebu (UC) and the University of the Visayas (UV) fought to a scoreless draw.
