KaTropa dump Meralco in semis-opener

THE TNT KaTropa pulled away in the third period to chalk up a 113-95 win over the Meralco Bolts at the start of their best-of-five semifinal series in the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup last night at the Araneta Coliseum.

The KaTropa settled for a slim 45-43 lead at the half but exploded for 39 points in the third period to build a huge 21-point cushion, 84-63.

Asian import Michael Madanly led the way for the KaTropa with 22 points, while locals Troy Rosario, Jayson Castro and Ranidel de Ocampo all scored in double figures to combine for 42 points.

TNT’s second import Mychal Lemar Ammons pitched in 15 points.

Allen Durham paced the Bolts with 26 markers.
