The Department of Public Services (DPS) in Cebu City is implementing a new schedule for its garbage collection service.
Asst. DPS chief John Paul Galasque explained that starting on October 16, garbage collection will be scheduled from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. of the next day.
“By 7:30 am, there won’t be any trucks in the roads, only those heading to the landfill,” he said in a radio interview.
Gelasque said they are testing the new collection scheme to prevent garbage trucks from adding to the early morning traffic congestion.
Gelasque is asking Cebuanos to cooperate with the city’s new collection schedule to make it work.
