THE Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu (SHS-ADC) Magis Eagles pulled off a historic feat when they clipped the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars, 25-16, 25-11, 22-25, 25-23, for their first ever title in the CESAFI girls volleyball tournament Sunday afternoon at the University of San Carlos (USC) Main Gym.
The Magis Eagles looked headed for an early celebration when they took a 22-13 lead in the third set but the Jaguars ignited a 12-0 run to force a fourth set.
Eventual best attacker awardee Jennifer Delos Santos took over in the fourth set where she scored eight points that sealed the championship for the Magis Eagles.
Delos Santos was joined in the mythical team by teammates Danielle Malazarte (best blocker), Kaye Santos (best setter and MVP) and Paula Cañete (best libero) and USJ-R’s Krizzia Caasi (best serve).
