Three women, 1 other drug suspect nabbed; P1M shabu confiscated

THREE women, two of them sisters, were arrested with over P1 million worth of shabu in a drug bust in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City last Saturday dawn.

May Ann, Mar Eve Baruel and their accomplice Nestle Canete were arrested by operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) after delivering three sachets believed to contain shabu worth P1.8 million.

Chief Insp. Dexter Calacar, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office, said the women claimed to be packing salt during the interrogation.

They are under RSOG custody pending the filing of charges against them.

In Barangay Garing, Consolacion town, suspected drug pusher Joey Marayan sustained a gunshot wound on the leg after trying to shoot a police officer during the aborted drug bust.

Police took from his possession six small sachets believed to contain shabu and one .38 revolver.
