Magpale off to HK for a vacation with grandkids, will not preside over budget hearings

Cebu Vice Governor Agnes Magpale will not be able to preside the budget hearings set next week as she will leave for a family vacation in Hongkong on Wednesday.

Magpale will be staying in Hong Kong until November 24 and will be reporting back to office on November 25, thus making it impossible for her to preside over the budget hearing on November 22 to 24.

In her absence, Provincial Board (PB) Member Jerom Librando will assume as acting vice governor while Magpale’s son, PB Member Miguel Antonio Magpale, who heads the PB’s committee on budget, will preside over the budget hearings.

Magpale said this will be her first vacation this year since she was busy during the election, adding that the trip is her treat to her grandchildren.

She said it is their family’s tradition to go on vacation together and since she was not able to treat them last year because of the elections, she decided to bring her grandchildren to Hongkong this year.
