Cebu Ultra Runners Club (CUC) President and Basura Run organizer Tony Galon is again embarking on another worthwhile challenge.

This time, he hopes to raise much-needed funds for two children in dire need of financial assistance for their respective hospitalization needs.

To do so, Galon will run 275 kilometers on November 25 starting in Minglanilla town, south Cebu,

The beneficiaries of Galon’s latest undertaking are Zhai Althea Veniez and Baby Jelae Mae Penafort who are currently admitted in two hospitals in Cebu City.

Baby Veniez underwent a recent open heart surgery which costs more than a hundred thousand pesos while Penafort is a leukemia patient.

Galon said he will run 55 kilometers each day for five days starting in Minglanilla and ending in five different finish areas. The first run on November 25 will end in Carcar City, the second day will conclude in Toledo City, third day in Cebu City, fourth day in Mandaue City and the final day in Lapu-lapu City.

Galon expressed gratefulness to some supporters of his Basura Run from Davao City who pledged to donate money for the beneficiaries.

The run will be Galon’s longest which will break his personal mark of 260k. “Anyone can join but this is a personal test for me. I failed to finish a 275k run a couple of years back but this time I will do my best to finish this mission because of the kids,” Galon said.

Galon informed that in order to donate funds for the children, the donor can deposit to his account in any BDO branches. His account’s complete name is Anthony C. Galon with account number 1029-0204-22.

Donors can also donate to his BPI account with account number 007610117886. All of the accumulated funds will be given directly to the beneficiaries.
