Last week my good friend and kumpare Arleigh Sitoy succumbed to embolism after his kidney transplant.
I knew for a fact that the kidney transplant operation was not easy on Sitoy’s part because a day before the operation the Provincial Board (PB) ethics committee called his attention to their concern about his health.
They knew that Arleigh was at risk because of the stroke he had and his heart bypass operation.
The scheduled kidney transplant operation had to be postponed because the day before they found out that Arleigh’s lungs were filled with water so they have to check on him again.
Then I texted Arleigh to check on him but was told that he was at the intensive care unit (ICU) for monitoring. I then got the news that my good friend Arleigh Sitoy is now dead, and I was saddened by his sudden demise.
I will miss him so much because he was truly a friend. The last time I was hospitalized this year, he visited me twice in my hospital room and discussed his resolve to have a kidney transplant.
To the bereaved family of Arleigh Sitoy especially his spouse Tina and the children, my sincerest condolences. To Arleigh, ‘till we meet again.

Finally suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa and former driver Ronnie Dayan testified in the Senate and House committees respectively and conveyed to members of Congress their involvement in the illegal drug trade and Senator Leila de Lima.
Espinosa came up with some details about the money that he allegedly gave to de Lima through Dayan who confirmed his seven-year relationship with the good senator and the reports that he built his house through the money De Lima supposedly gave to him.
But clearly Dayan was not telling the whole truth in his testimony in the House of Representatives. Some sectors were disappointed by the hearing because the committee zeroed into the relationship of Dayan and de Lima instead of the drug trade in Bilibid.
In the case of Kerwin Espinosa, his testimony revealed the names of the police officers who received money from him and cleared the names of the politicians that appeared in the affidavit of his father mayor Espinosa.
I think it would be best that a case should be filed against Senator de Lima to give her the chance to answer the accusations against her and for the truth to be revealed under the scrutiny of the court.
