To reiterate their stand against the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) , militant groups held simultaneous noise barrage in seven different areas in Cebu on Tuesday noon.
Different militant groups gather at Fuente Osmeña, SM City Cebu, University of the Philippines (UP Cebu), University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Lahug Campus, Pagtambayayong Compound near University of San Carlos South Campus, Talisay City and Lapu-Lapu City to put pressure on the Supreme Court Justices as as it conducts a hearing on the motion for reconsideration of Marcos’ burial at LNMB.
In Fuente Osmeña, around 30 members from Sanlakas group joined the 15-minute protest.
Teody Navea, secretary general of Sanlakas – Cebu, said they want to remind the nine Supreme Court Justices of the insult they have done to the history and to the victims of Martial Law.
“This is a continuous advocacy. We want also to remind the people who insulted us and the rest of the Filipino,” Navea said.
Members of the Anti-Bongbong Coalition (ABC), AKBAYAN, SANLAKAS, MAGKAISA, Kilusan para sa Pambansang Demokrasya (KPD), Partidong Mangagawa (PM), Bukluran ng Mangagawang Pilipino (BMP), Pagtambayayong Communities, Task Force Detainees of the Philippines, Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG), Coalition against Marcos (CAM), and Student Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) took to the streets to hold simultaneous noise barrages.
The nine justices who voted in favor of Marcos’ burial were Associate Justices Arturo Brion, Presbitero Velasco Jr, Diosdado Peralta, Lucas Bersamin, Mariano del Castillo, Jose Perez, Teresita de Castro, Jose Mendoza and Estela Perlas-Bernabe.
