AS political nemesis Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and former mayor Michael Rama engaged anew in a word war, Cebuano netizens showed exasperation by calling them “bitches,” “crazy” and “brats” who both need to move on.

Rama challenged Osmeña to a “one-on-one” drug test yesterday during a press conference at the Rama Ancestral House in Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City.

He said he will wait for Osmeña at the Plaza Independencia kiosk at 9 a.m. today.

Osmeña accepted the challenge but said that he will do it according to his terms.

Osmeña said he will not show up at Plaza Independencia, saying Rama could not dictate when he would take the drug test.

To these exchanges, netizens took to Facebook their take on the bickering public officials.

After Cebu Daily News posted on its Facebook page the breaking news article “Osmeña accepts Rama’s challenge but wants test done according to his terms” at 12:28 p.m. yesterday, follower “Nich D Lao” immediately commented by saying that Osmeña should instead focus on doing his job as a mayor and that Rama should “shut (his) trap and stop stirring the hornet’s nest.”

“These two idiots should stop acting like brats, especially Tomas. If you both don’t want to bury the hatchet, why don’t you man up and have a boxing match and beat the crap off each other instead of acting like bitches. STOP THIS NONSENSE!,” Lao commented.

Another netizen likened Osmeña and Rama to two teenagers who are fighting to win a dance with the ugliest girl.

“Just piss in a cup for God sakes and stop pretending to be holier than thou….worse than two teenagers at a high school dance fighting for the ugliest girl,” said Glen Hardy.

Others suggested that both should settle their issues physically.

One netizen, Papitoy Compomanes, wrote, “Maypa mag pinusilay mong duha o dili ba kaha mas maayog higtan ug pisi ang inyong mga hawak unya mag dinonggabay mo hangtud nga naay 1 sa inyo muhagba.. (Why don’t you just shoot each other or tie a rope around your waists and stab each other until one of you falls).”

“Mas maayo mgsuyop mong duha ang unang mo tiorok pildi (Why don’t you both smoke pot; the first one to collapse loses),” said another netizen, Maigo Zuko.

Facebook user Tulitz Palang suggested to give boxing gloves to Osmeña and Rama after taking the drug test, adding that both might actually be drug users.

Some netizens who commented on an earlier breaking story that had the headline “Rama challenges Osmeña to a one-on-one drug test,” defended Osmeña by saying that Rama was only asking for a drug test now because he already had time to clear his system of traces of the illegal drugs.

Melven Valdeza Delima wrote, “Because He knows Tommy Osmeña is taking drugs as medication.. Iyang tuyo is to fool the people nga nag positive si Tommy (He just wants to fool the people when Osmeña would test positive for drugs). And then that’s it. Rama is just so pathetic.”

“Hahahaha kalasag bogo nimo Rama oi, tawn pd. Sa kadugay kang gi challenge ana karon raka ning sugot?? Hahaha FYI lng, mawala rana sa imo systema ang shabu after a few days of detox (orange juice, butong, etc.) … Gamita daw strands sa inyu buhok awun natu di ba kam positive gi bogoan nlng jud kas mga Cebuano?? Lol,” Marveen Espina Monroy wrote.

(What a waste of intellect. You were challenged to take the test long time ago and you’re just agreeing to take the test now? For your information, traces of illegal drugs can be eliminated after a few days of detox. … Use hair strands for the test, let’s see if you won’t get positive results. You really think Cebuanos are that dumb),” Monroy wrote.

Most of the other netizens expressed disappointment saying both parties should really just move on.

They asked Osmeña to instead focus on solving issues in the city including traffic, garbage and damaged roads and for Rama to, again, just move on.
