SUV caught fire at Mactan airport

A Sports Utility Vehicle parked along the Domestic Departure drop off area of Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) caught fire at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Based on a report by Senior Supt. Riche Posadas of the Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU 7), Ernesto Pepito, who owns the green Kia Sportage, was trying to reconnect the battery of the car when it sparked and started a fire.

MCIA personnel responded at 4:55 p.m. and were able to put out the fire immediately. There were no reported injuries and no other properties damaged caused by the incident.
