BIRTHDAY GREETING

A city official had a small, pleasant break as she appeared in court to testify as a witness in a hearing for a case filed against the city government.

The city’s lawyer greeted her on her birthday during the trial and the presiding judge followed suit. The official thanked the two before undergoing a grilling on the case.

SMOKE, NOT DRIVE

A jeepney driver dropped by a vendor and bought a few sticks of cigarette from him. The vendor, who was drinking with friends, offered him a drink.

Though they know each other, the driver politely declined, saying he was still driving his route.

While passengers were thankful he would drive sober, they cringed when they saw him smoke the cigarettes full blast.

AMIABLE JUDGE

A judge still managed some humor despite a long day in court.

He allowed the lawyers of both camps to compare photocopied documents with original ones inside the courtroom. They didn’t finish on time and had to be back in three days.

When he asked them if they wanted to leave the documents to the court, one of the lawyers said they planned to bring it home for review.

The judge retorted by asking, “You don’t trust the court?” The lawyers laughed, knowing that the judge was joking.
