THE volleyball teams of Central Visayas scored wins yesterday at the start of the Private Schools Athletics Association (Prisaa) volleyball competition in Iba, Zambales.
Leading the way is the Cesafi girls champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-ADC) Magis Eagles who scored lopsided victories over Cordillera Administrative Region, 25-4 and Region II, 25-11 to grab a 2-0 (win-loss) record in girls play while the University of San Carlos (USC) Lady Warriors blew past Region II, 21-14, 21-1 in the women’s classification.
Both the Lady Warriors and the Magis Eagles are bolstered by players from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation whom they acquired for this tournament.
On the other hand, the reigning Cesafi men’s indoor champions University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Spiking Jaguars battered Region XII, 25-21, 25-18, 25-17.
Action continues in the eight-day tournament as the swimming competition which is bannered by USC and the table tennis contest led by the University of Cebu is set to get underway today.
