102-point victory for Mandaue in Gov’s Cup hoop

 

SUSTAINING its fiery form, tournament favorite Mandaue City chalked up a second straight lopsided win after it bludgeoned Tudela, 138-36, last Saturday night in the North Division Bracket 1 of the 2017 Cebu Governor’s Cup 21-&-Under Inter-Cities and Municipalities Basketball Tournament at the Tudela Municipal Gym off Camotes Islands, Cebu.

Coming off a 93-72 win versus Consolacion, Mandaue was relentless from the get-go and raced to a 27-8 lead.

After posting a 58-22 lead at the half, Mandaue continued to pour it on in the final half to seal the 102-point beatdown.

Christopher Isabelo topped Mandaue with 27 points, Jancork Cabahug dropped 18, JB Damolo added 14 markers, Froilan Mangubat chipped in 13 and Jeric Gonzaga donated 11.

John Ivy Ostria paced Tudela with 16 points.

Compostela, on the other hand, won anew in Bracket 3 as it pulled off a 67-51 win over Lilo-an behind Archel Lord Arena and Kherlie Pino, who scored 12 markers each.

Consolacion barged into the win column after Pilar forfeited its second straight assignment.

In the South Division Bracket 3, Toledo City chalked up a tight 70-69 win over Dumanjug at the Municipal Gym.

Tommy Bubuli led the way for Toledo with 22 points, Ralph Reston added 17, while Ezra Nortiza chipped in 14.

Barili stayed unbeaten after two games via 70-58 trashing of Alcantara, while Badian nailed an easy 83-47 triumph over Alegria.
