EX-WORLD title challenger Daniel “El General” Diaz of Nicaragua had little to say about his upcoming fight against Boholano boxing sensation Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo in the main event of Pinoy Pride 41: New Generation Warriors on July 8 at the Ic3 Convention Center in Cebu City.
But his short message sent a strong signal.
“I want to send all Cebuano fans greetings from Nicaragua. I want to invite them to buy their tickets not only to watch a great fight, but also to witness the first defeat of their great champion, Mark Magsayo,” said the Nicaraguan number two super featherweight boxer.
The unbeaten Magsayo (16-0-0,12KOs) and Diaz (23-7-0,15KOs) will fight for the former’s WBO international featherweight title.
Diaz is coming off a win against countryman Jorge Moreno. Although this is Diaz’ first fight in the Philippines, the former world title contender has already fought otuside his hometown long before Magsayo started his professional career. He is confident that his performance won’t be affected despite fighting in hostile territory.
