Global Cebu, Kaya settle for 2-2 draw

GLOBAL Cebu FC and Kaya Makati FC played to a 2-2 draw in the Philippines Football League (PFL) last Sunday at the University of Makati football pitch.

Global Cebu FC is still at the third spot in the current standings with 14 points coming off four wins, two defeats and two draws. Kaya FC Makati has 11 points coming from three wins, three losses and two draws.

Global Cebu’s midfielder Shu Sasaki scored the first goal at the 27th minute as Global Cebu led, 1-0, at the half.

Ghanian forward Jordan Mintah equalized the game just a minute into the second half. Kaya Makati FC managed to take the lead after Mendy Lopez added a goal in the 89th minute but Guinean skipper Sekou Sylla of Global FC netted a goal in the 90th minute to force the draw.

Global Cebu FC will now head to Cebu City to play its first home game at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) against rival Ceres Negros FC. The game is set tomorrow starting at 7 p.m.

The official line-up of Global Cebu FC for the game was released by the Cebu Football Association (CFA). It is composed of Misagh Bahadoran (team captain), Sasaki, Sylla, Paul Maulders, Patrick Deyto, Matthew Hartmann, Fritz Brigoli, Dennis Villanueva, Paolo Bugas, Amani Aguinaldo, Jerry Barbaso, Hikaru Minegishi, Paco Mathay, John Roy Melgo, Mario Javier Clarino, Yu Hoshide, Paolo Salenga, Vincent Paurom, Rowell Bayan, Nicholas O’donnell, Carlos Roleda, Paolo Sandejas, Marco Casambre, Lanz Jason Silverio, Vinnie Vinculado and Wesley Dos Santos. The team’s head coach is Akbar Nawas.
