DOCE PARES blackbelt Ermar Alexander earned his 6th grade black belt after passing the practical dissertation last Monday afternoon at the Doce Pares World Headquarters at the Sto. Nino Village in Banilad.
Alexander, a Cebuano who was born in England, had to pass through the eye of the needle before earning the honor. He needed two hours to satisfy the panel comprised by a mix of Doce Pares grandmasters and media practitioners.
The panel included Doce Pares grandmasters Rodrigo Maranga, Felix Gutang and Andres Cañete, masters Joe Borces and Rudy Rey, media practitioners Manny Villaruel of The Freeman and Nestor Ramirez, the chairman of the department of communications and journalism at the University of San Jose-Recoletos. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
