MAO BA?

Good job

The Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas finds itself in the receiving end of positive comments over its decision on the case involving former Cebu City councilor Gerardo Carillo, whom the anti-graft body ordered barred from holding any position in government after he was found guilty of serious dishonesty when he ordered his administrative aide to work as cook, during office hours, at his girlfriend’s establishment.

While Carillo, a lawyer who now maintains a flourishing private practice, has belied the allegation and is set to file a motion for reconsideration over the ruling, some netizens still went on to congratulate the Ombudsman for rendering the ruling.

Netizen Vern Villagarcia wrote, “GOOD JOB Ombudsman! mas madami po ang naniniwala na kayo po ay matino. (Majority of the people still believe in you.) Go ahead with your fight… God bless.”

Lyda Avila also wrote: “dutlan man lagi si Carillo how about ang uban sa gobyerno nga susamag dagan sa kaso niya, i’m sure nagpangurog nah! More power.” (If they did this to Carillo, they should have done this, too, to other officials facing similar cases. I’m sure they are now cowering in fear.)

Another netizen named Andrez Vardano, said in jest: “Just don’t bar him from cooking in any restaurant. Awesome ombuds.”

The Office of the Ombudsman has also forfeited the retirement benefits of Carillo.
