The management of Rico’s Lechon has acknowledged the closure order issued by the Cebu City Government against their branches in Escario St. and in Barangay Mabolo.
But they explained that they are already working on acquiring their business permits from City Hall.
“Actual processing has been ongoing and the company is just waiting for the final business permit release when the notice of closure has been served,” they said in a statement sent to Cebu Daily News.
“The supporting documents as a requirement for the release has been duly received by the designated local office or department prior to the notice,” they further said.
City Hall implemented the closure order against the two branches on Thursday morning.
In the separate orders which were signed by Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, it said that the two branches have been operating without business permits for six months and five years, respectively.
It also pointed out that notices to comply were given to both branches last June 1 and July 13 but these were not answered, prompting the mayor’s office to issue show cause order against the two branches last July 21.
But despite the closure of their two branches, the management of Rico’s Lechon said their another branch in Lapu-Lapu City as well as their online ordering system are still available.
“Rico’s Lechon is still business as usual in its Mactan Promenade Branch. LOYAL customers and partners can still order #DaBestGyud Lechon thru its website www.RicosLechon.com or from its Corporate Office at One Paseo Saturnino along Maria Luisa Road, Banilad, Cebu City,” the management said in its statement.
