UBER SUSPENSION

Patrons of Uber, a transport network company, were quick to share their sentiments after the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) suspended Uber’s service for one month.

LTFRB stands firm on its decision after Uber “clearly defied” the agency’s order not to accredit new drivers and cars into its platform last month.

David Millar shared his suggestion on other problems that LTFRB should look into. He said, “Why not go after the taxi drivers in Manila airport who ask for too much?”

Ann Pellerin posted a comment on Facebook, saying, “Uber has made life easier for commuters. They’re convenient and safe. Why ban them?”

There were also netizens who applauded LTFRB’s move against Uber.

Twitter user, W Milton, said, “Forget it, Uber. If you can’t follow the rules, this is what you get.”

Ben Mariano said, “Good job. Impose hard penalties to all public transport firms committing violations.”
