SUPPORT FOR JOVIE
Last Monday’s announcement by President Rodrigo Duterte that he will send Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido to Iloilo City drew mostly positive reactions from netizens.
Cha-cha Wagas posted a comment on Facebook saying, “We will support Sir Espenido and President Duterte, but I hope no innocent person will suffer.”
Myr Gavin said, “Those people protecting drug lords in Cebu should watch out for Espenido. He might be assigned in Cebu after Iloilo.”
Maria Socorro Baoy, meanwhile, expressed admiration for Espenido. “Good luck in your new assignment, Sir. Only few dedicated and sincere police officers left.”
Socorro Lienaw shared his high hopes on the war on drugs in general. “I am against illegal drugs, but I don’t want cold-blooded massacres to happen in Cebu. I don’t want to see or hear the weeping and wailing of grief-stricken families because their loved ones were killed. I want due process to be observed and to prevail in all anti-drug operations.”
