Love and letting go tackled in video serye “Kailan Darating ang Ayaw ko Na?”

Director Maryo J. de los Reyes with actors Blumark Roces, Orlando Sol and Catherine Rem

TO ENTICE more viewers to watch the first online video series, “Kailan Darating Ang Ayoko Na?” award-winning film and TV director Maryo J. de los Reyes decided to cast Bisaya actors and use the Cebuano language in the script.

“May nag-suggest na lagyan ng subtitles, at meron din nagsabi na huwag para magkaroon ng curiosity. It’s   not film, but  online, so somebody who watches it can say,  ‘Panoorin mo nga ito kasi hindi ko naintindihan ang words.’ Magtatawag ka sa mga Visayan friends mo,” said de los Reyes, whose extensive filmography includes cinematic greats such as “Magnifico,” which won the Crystal Bear trophy at the Berlin Film Festival in 2004.

“Kailan Darating Ang Ayoko Na?” is top billed by former Masculados member Orlando Sol, ex-“Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) housemate Catherine Rem (Emma) and upcoming star Blumark Roces (Charles).  Aside from  love and letting go, the story also tackles the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) theme.

The online video serye has five episodes and its pilot premiered in April via Star Music’s YouTube channel.

De los Reyes said the story is based on real-life events.

“We had a contest online of different stories and we chose five and finally, this. Totoong kwento siya. Ayaw niyang mag  come out kasi baka masabit ang family niya,” he said during last Tuesday’s press conference at the Krua Thai restaurant in SM City Cebu.

THE CAST

Rem, who is a native of Bohol, said that she can relate to the video serye because of what she went through at a certain point of her life. She admitted that after her PBB stint she quit showbiz because of a four-year relationship.

“Every  day of that relationship ako’ng sige’ng pangutana kanus-a pa ni ma okey or mahuman,” she said.

Rem recalled asking God’s help in dealing with the challenges of that relationship. “One time ni ask lang jud ko sa Ginoo,  ‘Can you help me and give me a sign? Kailan darating ‘yung ayoko na?’

That was the question in my life. Through God’s grace, natapos ‘yun,” she added. Now, Rem said she is happy especially that she was able to make a showbiz comeback, including a stint with GMA Network via the primetime series, “I Heart Davao” top billed by real-life sweethearts Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana.

Roces, for his part, was discovered by de los Reyes in Bohol and was the first love team partner of Bangs Garcia.  Just like Rem, he said he could also relate to the story because of his experience from a 12-year relationship.

“Noong nag three years pa lang kami, nagsimula na ‘yung kalbaryo. Kumbaga, nagtiis ako. Kaya sinabi ko sa sarili ko na kailan darating ang ayoko na. Pagdating ng 12 years, doon ako umayaw,” shared Roces.

SOL’S ‘EMOSYON’

Aside from promoting the video serye, Sol was in Cebu for the provincial tour to promote his debut album titled, “Emosyon,” which includes the video serye’s theme song. Sol’s album contains five original songs: “Kailan Darating Ang Ayoko Na,” “Ingatan Mo Ang Salitang Mahal Kita,” “Lilipad Ako Nay,” “Kaibigan,” and “I’ll Always Be There” all composed by Jerwin Necomedez and distributed by Star Music.

Aside from being a member of Masculados for eight years, Sol is also into theater. He is set to join  “Uyayi Ng Ulan” to be staged in schools nationwide.
