Two women-visitors were arrested by jail officers on Saturday for allegedly trying to sneak in contraband at the Cebu City Jail.

Marlyn Estorgio, 20, was caught hiding in her genitals two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets believed to contain shabu and seven dried tobacco leaves.

A disposable lighter and a cellular phone were also recovered from Estorgio.

She was on her way to visit her jailed live-in partner when she was caught with the contraband at 9:30 a.m.

Thirty minutes later, another female visitor, Violeta Bacus, 43, was also caught hiding a big plastic pack of suspected shabu in her private parts, said Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, deputy mayor on police matters.

She was also on her way to visit her jailed live-in partner when she was apprehended by the jail guards.

Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, particularly for possession of illegal drugs, are set to be filed against them.

Tumulak, who lauded the new warden, Col. Renante Rubio for the arrests of the women, also said that the jail guards also confiscated packs of cigarettes, which were taped around the waist of a boy, who was on his way to visit his jailed father.

The contraband was confiscated and the boy was eventually released later.
