THE University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters chess team will be holding a tryout on January 24 to 26 at the UC main campus along Sanciangko Street, Cebu City.

UC Webmasters’ head coach, International Master (IM) Kim Steven Yap, said the tryout aims to find potential players who will bolster the team and hopefully represent the school in various competitions and meets.

UC’s current lineup is composed of Christian Klent and Chris Aldritz Pondoyo, Adrian Neil Gelig, Edsel Vosotros, Marphine Mangubat, Nichole Mangubat and Marvie Abucay.

The chess players who will be selected will get the full benefits of a UC varsity athlete, with privileges including full free tuition fee and athletes’ allowance.
