Several packs of shabu (crystal meth) estimated to be worth P855,000 were seized this afternoon from drug courier, a resident of Barangay Pasil in Cebu City who also happened to one of the victims of the fire that razed three sitios in the barangay on Sunday.
The suspect, Joselito Cabije, alias “Magu,” 34, who also happened to be an employee of the Cebu City Traffic Office (CCTO), was about to deliver the prohibited drug to a buyer when he was collared in a buy-bust operation by operatives of the Central Visayas Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU-7) and Regional Special Operations Group (RSGO-7), said Supt.Glenn Mayam, DEU 7 chief.
Cabije was caught with three large packs of shabu with an estimated weight of 75 grams, valued at about P1 million.
Also arrested was Cabije’s alleged cohort, Ronnie Sabanal, 40, and a resident of F. Rallos Street, Barangay Pasil.
