PRIVATE lot owners who plan to put up their own bleachers during the Sinulog celebration are required to secure permits from the Office of the Building Official (OBO).
Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, who chairs the Sinulog Festival committee, said business establishments should submit their structural design until tomorrow, Jan. 19.
“Our deadline is on Friday. All they have to do is submit the structural design and secure a permit from OBO,” he said.
Bleachers without permits will be demolished by the Prevention, Restoration, Order, and Beautification Enhancement team together with City Hall’s General Services Office (GSO).
He said it is important that the structure is stable and safe for spectators. It must not obstruct the sidewalk, Tumulak said.
The bleachers must also be put up only within their property line, he said.
Those found to be littering along the parade route will be issued tickets, Tumulak said.
